Description

The literature has revealed that social agents such as peers, parents, teachers and coaches have significant impact on sports participation. Other studies have suggested that birth order, community opportunities and socio-economic status may also affect sports participation. Although, there have been numerous studies on sports socialization and sports motivation, the question of what factors relate to sports participation from among the various complex groups as in Indian society, has not received much attention.
